ABOUT REBECCA MUSIC BIO: Small Girl * Big Voice * Fast Guitar Hart received her first guitar as an unsolicited 12th birthday present from her parents. Music was a fairly private affair for the very prolific young Hart until the formation of her first band, the Rebecca Hart Project, at Brown University in Rhode Island. The "folk-jazz-rock" RHP built quite the local buzz in Providence, earning "Best Female Vocal" and "Best Song" nominations from the Providence Phoenix and playing theWBRU Rock Hunt Finals before leaving en masse for Los Angeles. In LA, RH focused solely on music, honing her now-celebrated live act with a steady stream of gigs, and writing more and more under the band's changing influences. By the time Hart decided to leave LA, she had recorded & released three independent EPs: 'Swallow the Moon', 'the Rebecca Hart Project', and 'Sigh'. Back on the East Coast, in NYC, RH crossed paths with producer Benjy King one night at the Bitter End. He was immediately taken with her arresting "Joni Mitchell meets Dave Matthews" sound, and the two began to work on a modest demo recording together. This demo recording grew into the 2006 full-length release, "Crash & Strum", Hart's first-ever full-length recording. Rebecca Hart tours frequently between acting gigs, mostly on the East Coast and in Ireland. The Live Band consists of Dan Barman (drums), Matt Epstein (bass), and Stuart Mason (guitar), in addition RH (guitar, vocals, serial monologues) STAGE HART: THEATRE BIO Born into a 'theatre family', Rebecca Hart made her first stage appearance at the age of nine months and hasn't looked back. While getting her Theatre degree from Brown University, RH was nominated twice for the Irene Ryan National Theatre awards, created the title role in the premiere of Kathleen Tolan's "A Girl's Life" at Trinity Rep, and was awarded a William Weston Award for Drama by the University in her final year. She recently completed the two-year Actor Training Program at the Maggie Flanigan Studio in New York City. Recent credits include the lead role in "LOVE SUCKS: a punk-rock musical' by Brandon Patton and Stephen O'Rourke in the NY Musical Theatre Festival, Off-Bway at the Julia Miles Theatre, and creating the roles of 'Nora' and 'Beatrice' in the critically acclaimed premiere of "Dead City" by Sheila Callaghan (New Georges, NYC). She recently workshopped "REALITY: the musical" by Itamar Moses (Bach @Leipzig) Gaby Alter and is recording vocals on the demo. Her one-woman play with music, "Jazz Desert: the life & death of an american band", which chronicles her time with the Rebecca Hart Project, was developed over three summers at the Culture Project/45 Bleecker Theatre. 'Jazz Desert' has also appeared in the TerraNOVA ONE Festival at Center Stage NY, the Town Hall Theatre in Galway, Ireland, and the Double Helix ONE Festival at Primary Stages NYC. Rebecca Hart is represented as an actor by the Fifi Oscard Agency.
